Nando's Peri-Peri is the perfect blend of flavour and fire. Whether chicken lovers prefer Nando's Peri-Peri Chicken prepared with the cooler lemon and herb or the fiery extra hot (for the slightly insane), they will always get to taste the unique flavour of their chicken - there is something for everyone's taste.
Apart from enhancing almost everything that's edible (even drinkable) with the perfect balance of heat and taste, Nando's Peri-Peri has some other amazing special effects. It is well known that Nando's Peri-Peri has an exceptionally high content of vitamin C and that our Peri-Peri is believed to release endorphins. Endorphins are responsible for that natural high that, when combined with excited taste buds, cause people to develop a healthy addiction to Nando's Peri-Peri. Nando's Peri-Peri is rumoured to have an enormously positive effect on the libido, which also explains why Nando's lovers always want more.
Only the best natural ingredients are used in creating our Peri-Peri. We are so proud of this naturalness that we are considering sponsoring a Nando's Peri-Peri Naturist resort!

The heat of chilli is measured in Scoville units after a famous scientist called Dr Scoville. The African Bird's Eye Chilli (Peri-Peri) measures from around 80000 Scoville units to 150000 Scoville units. The hottest chilli ever recorded was a Habenero Chilli, which measured around 500000 Scoville units.
At Nando's we have created our Peri-Peri with four different heat levels,(see our peri-ometer) lemon and herb for beginners, medium, hot and extra hot for the soldiers of life. But Nando's Peri-Peri is not about how hot, but rather about how tasty. The addiction to Peri-Peri that people speak of is an addiction to the flavour and heat. For nandinhos (Nando's Children) we have a basting that has no Peri-Peri.
We have touched on the uniqueness of Nando's Peri-Peri and as we move on to show you how we have used it to create the best Peri-Peri Chicken and the best Peri-Peri sauces in the world (ask anyone who works for Nando's), you will realise that Nando's Peri-Peri is for life.
