From Nandoca to Area Manager: Alma’s Fiery Journey

Alma’s Nando’s story began in 2005, when she moved from Venezuela to Australia and started as a Team Member. With little English and a brand-new country to navigate, she worked her way into management at Jindalee, proving that courage and hard work can turn challenges into opportunities.

Fast forward 18 years, and Alma is now a high-achieving Area Manager, recognised with awards like Life and Soul (2020) and Chaperon of the Year (2022 & 2023). She’s passionate about growth—her own and her team’s—believing that change and learning go hand in hand.

For Alma, Nando’s is all about people, culture, and inclusivity: “Here, you’re supported, appreciated, and encouraged to grow. My journey is proof that Nando’s truly changes lives.”

Her leadership style? Direct, honest, and supportive—with plenty of fun, recognition, and good vibes to make her restaurants feel like family.

And her go-to order? ¼ chicken with rice and raw haloumi, mild basting… plus chips when she’s feeling skinny.

From her first shift to leading multiple restaurants, Alma’s story shows that at Nando’s, the flame isn’t just on the grill—it’s in the people.
